Board Member Profile – Occasio Gee

A qualified and committed team of board members is critical to our success. We thought you’d like to get to know our board members a little better. First up, Occasio Gee.

Q. Tell us about your background.
A. I’m a PR guy who made a wrong turn one day and found himself working in Marketing.

Q. Where are you from?
A. I was born in NC but grew up in Virginia Beach.

Q. What are you into outside of work and marketing?
A. I spend my time outside of work with my family, fraternity and in front of the TV or watching movies.

Q. What’s your current job?
A. I work at Liberty Tax as a Social Media Manager. I guide an amazing team of digital marketers focused on developing a dynamic organic and social strategy.

Q. How did you get into marketing?
A. I was working in PR but spent more and more time working on marketing projects.

Q. What do you like most about marketing?

A. I like the ability to tell stores.

Q. How did you get involved with the AMA?
A. The trainings and webinars were the gateway to my involvement. I love learning from my peers. AMA is the perfect opportunity to hear amazing ideas and grow as a marketer.

Q. Best local place we should know about?
A. I’m a beach kid. I went to school at the Oceanfront but have lived in every city on the South Side. My favorite place to eat in the entire area is Dog N Burger in Ghent.
